Yes, I must agree, Olympic leave policy as been totally overlooked in many cases. Most employers, in London are more worried about their staff getting to work and they try to come up with some solutions for that and not concentrating on the leave policy at all.

The new legislation for agency workers is an interesting topic for many at the moment. It is going to affect many in so many different ways, it could bring a lot of changes about for Contractors who run as a limited company independently, they could end up being in line for more work and the employment agencies as we know could end up smaller in numbers with the biggest companies taking on most of the agency work out there. That’s my opinion on the new Agency Worker Regulations and what one of the possible outcomes could be. it is going to be very interesting to see how this pans out.

The Government has dealt a hammer blow to workers rights. How can employees afford over £1,250 + expenses for a Tribunal hearing, when employers are already treating workers like they did in this case http://is.gd/gWac7Z which happened under current legislation.

These are very good points. One item i would like to add is that is also a good idea to include the company’s core values or mission statement in the interviewing process. For example, you may mention that their core values are in alignment with your personal values you want to apply to your next career with them. It shows that you are looking beyond the scope of the “job” and also embracing the culture the company represents.

Numerous professionals from linked-in in both the UK and US have franked this article and therefore this approach too interview preparation. Good Luck with your interviews and job search.
