Generally, retailing at about £60 and having 5 out of 5 star ratings from over 5,000 reviews this Lagavulin 16 Year Single malt is undoubtedly a quality and very drinkable whisky. I tried this myself after being recommended by a friend and this soon became the firm favourite night cap for our social group. Officially, it’s described as an award-winning single malt scotch with smoky-rich flavour, character and craft in every drop. It’s thought to be a great gift for both whisky enthusiasts to whisky connoisseurs. It has one of the longest distillation and maturation periods. It has intense, peat-rich, sweet and salty scotch from the coast of Islay. Aged for at least sixteen years in oak casks in beautiful Scotland. 2.Lagavulin 9 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 70cl – House Lannister Game of Thrones Limited Edition
Retailing at about £50 this is next on the list. It’s the 9 year old, Game of Thrones limited edition version of the Lagavulin and and still has perfect ratings from Amazon reviewers from over 600 reviews. I haven’t tried this myself but the taste sensation is described by Lagavulin as: Characteristic Lagavulin sweet smoke explodes on the nose with a little more brine than the other expressions. The palate opens with smoked caramelized banana and heavy vanilla and burnt marshmallow which subside into a light dry, slightly salted caramel. The nose is characteristically Lagavulin with the sweet smoke exploding on the nose providing a little zestier, Maritime brine than the other expressions.
