How ESTA works

What is ESTA?
ESTA stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorization, which allows the travelers from certain countries a stay of ninety days during two consecutive years. The applicants receive a notification on their status against the submitted form within twenty-four hours of submitting the form. Booking advance flights or hotels does not secure a successful authorization. Through this form the Department of the Homeland Security obtains biological and other information about the travelers which may be related to;
- Personal information (Name / Birth date / Parents’ names /communicable diseases etc.)
- Contact information
- Information related conviction of certain crimes
- Employment information
- History of deportation
- Information related to passport
- History of visa revocation
The applicants must provide accurate, authentic and up to date information against the requirements using English language, when filling out the forms. Also, these application forms must be submitted at least seventy-two hours prior to their departure for the U.S.
