Diamonds earrings are of course a wonderful gift to buy for yourself, a friend or a loved one. There are of course many situations in which you may choose to buy some diamond earrings and this is a guide to help you make the right buying decision.

Before you buy your diamond earrings or even start looking you should teach yourself about the 4C’s of a diamond quality which are Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. This is a diamond quality grading system developed by the GIA in the 1950s, which is still used by diamond professionals.
The Four C’s of a Diamond
1. Colour. The colour of the diamond is one of they key criteria that will determine the value of your diamond earrings. Diamonds come in many colours, ranging from colourless to light yellow to brown. Colourless diamonds are the rarest of all and are as you would imagine the most expensive.
2. Clarity.
The diamonds in diamond earrings have internal features called inclusions and surface irregularities called blemishes which together comprise the diamond’s clarity characteristics. A diamond with greater clarity has fewer inclusions and blemishes. Blemishes generally occur on the outer surface of a diamond and include scratches and nicks. Inclusions tend to appear on the inside of a diamond and on rare occasions may break through the surface of the stone. An inclusion might be as a result of a tiny diamond or a other mineral crystal being trapped in the diamond when it forms. In terms of value the greater clarity of the diamond in the diamond earrings the more expensive they are likely to be.

3.Cut. A well cut diamond will make your diamond ear-rings look mesmerizing due to three optical effects: white light reflections called brightness, flashes of colour called fire, and areas of light and dark called scintillation. The quality of the cut will determine the diamond’s final value and is the most complex and technically difficult criteria to assess.
4.Carat Weight. This simple relates to the weight of a diamond. One metric carat is two-tenths (0.2) of a gram—just over seven thousandths (0.007) of an ounce. One ounce contains almost 142 carats. The greater the carat the diamond in your diamond earrings the more expensive they are likely to be.
So, when you are choosing some diamond stud earrings you’ll need to think about the 4 C’s, consider how much you are willing to spend, and the taste of the recipient.
