Why Gambling Is No Career Path

There is an immense number of betting websites out there, with all kinds of offers and promos to boost your chances of winning. In fact, you only need to look on Bet Station to get an idea of just how many great sites there are. In the modern world, we see more people’s professions than ever before, owing largely to social media accounts. We have had many of you asking us recently whether or not there is a potential career path in gambling, which of course sounds like a great option, were it to be a viable choice.

The answer however is that this is not a career path we would recommend, and here is exactly why.

Zero Certainties

Those who have forged something of a career or a side hustle from gambling, do so by playing the probabilities. This means, however, that even if the odds are in your favor, there are absolutely zero certainties that you will win, or even make money. Now one may argue that a job doesn’t provide you with certainties of longevity, but that is a much different scenario. In reality, if you have a job and attend it daily, you will be able to count on a salary at the end of the week or month. Conversely, you could attend the casino every single day for a month, and who knows how much you will win, or lose for that matter.

Potential For Loss

This leads us to our next point, your potential for loss. Whenever you are gambling there are chances of winning and losing. If you should stack the odds in your favor somehow, it is likely that they will be incredibly low, meaning that you won’t even win very much should you triumph. The fact however that you could lose your money is exactly why this makes absolutely no sense as a career path, regardless of how good you think that you are.

Capital Requirements

From a purely fundamental standpoint, it is important that you have enough capital going into this ‘career choice’, and very few do. Ultimately you can only make money if you have money, which is sure to provide a stumbling block for quite a few people. Not only this but imagine if you do attempt to turn this into a career, and you lose all you have, where will you get more funds from?

Side Hustle

If you think that you have what it takes to outsmart the casinos and the sportsbooks then there is nothing wrong with giving it a go. The difference however is that we would suggest you try this as nothing more than a side hustle, alongside a job that pays you every month and offers you a multitude of benefits.

This could be a nice little earner for you but if you are thinking of attempting to create a career from this, it may be better to focus on something more sustainable instead.
